At 38 years old I think Jason has found where he belongs. Back up catcher for the Boston Red Sox. Last night Jason caught Dice K. and Jason hit a single and a homerun!
What’s up with Josh Beckett? I hope something fixable shows up in all the test and he gets back on the winning road.
I love Josh, and hate seeing him in this slump.
Tim Wakefield takes the mound this afternoon.
I haven’t been to Fenway Park in a few years, If I did get to a game this year I would hope Wakefield was on the mound.
The weather gods are going to be with us today. It may be a little cool, but it is not going to rain. Let’s keep the wins coming.
Matsuzaka was so shaky at the start, he was getting mock cheers for throwing a strike after walking the first two batters and he was getting booed after the runs started pouring in. I am not a big fan of Dice K’s, but you never boo the home team or a player on the home team.
He got it together after the first inning, and did it help making him feel bad in his home park? A lot of the guys are struggling, I don’t know why, I don’t like it any more than the next person, but I am not booing my team.
I really believe Terry has to pick a line up and stick to it.
V.Mart finally came around last night. We’re on a Roll, let’s hope we keep it up this weekend with the Yankees coming to town.
Happy Birthday to my Husband Jim!
Well at least Big Papi had a decent weekend. 2 homeruns, one off a left hander.
What is with the pitching staff? Are you aware that Jon Lester, John Lacky, and Clay Buchholtz wives are all having babies this summer? and Jonathan Paplebon’s wife just had a baby. Do you think there is a connection with this and the crappy way they all have been pitching? You would think they could plan things a little better? And Dice K and Beckett? What is there problem?
I think there should be less said about Big Papi, Mike Lowell, and Tim Wakefield and more said and done with the Pitchers!
On the other hand i’m liking Scott Schoeneweis. PV’s he has a really good year.
“The numbers tell everything,” Beckett said “They’re not good.”
Well that is something we all know. But he is not alone, what the hell is wrong with all the pitchers, except Wakefield, who has been banished to the bullpen? It’s not right, Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Buckholtz all looking pretty sad. But Wakefield goes to the bullpen because Dice K is finally coming back. So Wrong.
Wake as always, the gentlemen, pitched Sunday. The Sox lost, but not Wakefield. He was winning with 2 outs in the 7th and Terry decides to take him out, Why? he wasn’t tired, he was doing fine. So the outcome, we lost the game.
I can’t say I am looking forward to Dice K, like most I am tired of him, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt for one game, then, well, we shall see.
Just for the record we did win last night, but to quote the boston herald, someone had too.
Bernie Carbo has found God, and now he tells anyone that will listen “what a loser he was”.
Drugs, Booze, Pot, This guy did it all and then went out and tried to play ball. He is know for the Home run in the 1975 world series that tied the game and got Fisk up to win the game.I don’t remember much about the 70’s, but I do remember that game. I also remember that my daughter loved Bernie. Now I wish he was someone I forgot.
Terry Francona finally came up with the rotation, Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Tim Wakefield, and Clay Buchholz, Looks like Dice K will be in a bull pen for a while.
I am really happy to see Spring Training come to an end, maybe the rain will end with it. Opening Night and a new Season start Sunday. Let’s hope they bring some good weather with them from Florida.
Daisuke Matsuzaka played catch, and shagged fly balls but did not get back on the mound a day after a stiff neck kept him from throwing batting practice. (boston.com)
Matsuzaka’s streak of not speaking to reporters is getting old. I don’t know if he is just a primadonna or if there is really something wrong with him.
On the other side of that coin is Tim Wakefield. The old man on the team that is doing everything possible to get a spot on the starting rotation. My vote is definetly with Tim!
Mike Lowell finally gets to play today, it’s going to be at 1st base, which is a little strange, but I’m sure he is happy just to be playing.
Maybe Dice K should talk to the older guys on the team. He might learn something.
At this rate he will no way be ready for opening day
