Mikie on First…..Sweet

Tuesday nights game against Cleveland was one of the best games I’ve see all season.

Mike Lowell playing first base for Youk was great, and then Beckett getting mad! Wow, I don’t like fighting, but for Beckett to get that mad, and Francona to go billistic like he did, and no one got hurt.  It just pumped up the game.

All that luster was lost last night. Crabcakes looking hot and bothered.

One more tonight with Cleveland, come on guys get it together.

Mike and Papi

Gerry Callahan of the Boston Herald is pitting these two up against  each other.  That’s not his job.  He makes David the bad guy, fighting and winning his spot as D H. It has been his job for years and he has finally found his groove.

Don’t get me wrong I love Mike best,  he has been my favorite player since he came to the Red Sox( I love Papi too). But don’t put them up against each other.  That’s the front office and Tito’s job.  I don’t like it, and I want both of them to last with the sox forever, but nothing lasts forever.

SWITCH HITTERS: While the Red Sox...

Great game for Buchholtz last night! And now with Beckett on the DL maybe Wake will get a couple of starts.

The sun is shinning and it is a beautiful day in Boston. Home Game tonight!

At 38 years old I think Jason has found where he belongs.  Back up catcher for the Boston Red Sox.  Last night Jason caught Dice K. and Jason hit a single and a homerun!

Jason is looking and playing better than ever this season.POWER TRIP: Jason Varitek celebrates...VICTORY MARCH: Sox catcher Jason...

What’s up with Josh Beckett? I hope something fixable shows up in all the test and he gets back on the winning road.

I love Josh, and hate seeing him in this slump.

DOWN AND OUT: Red Sox starter Josh...

Tim Wakefield takes the mound this afternoon.

I haven’t been to Fenway Park in a few years, If I did get to a game this year I would hope Wakefield was on the mound.

The weather gods are going to be with us today. It may be a little cool, but it is not going to rain.  Let’s keep the wins coming.

When is a Win Ugly?

Pretty ugly win for Sox (Scott Lauber, Boston Herald) No win is Ugly! We take them any way we can get them! Lackey didn’t look great, but the bullpen helped out! and bottom line, We Won!

John LackeyDOWN AND OUT: Red Sox starter Josh... Josh is going to miss his next rotation, instead of Wednesday he will be starting Friday, Well that is if his back is feeling better.  After being told by Tito that Wakefield would be starting Wednesday and he would be Friday he told John Farrell that he tweaked his back.  Okay maybe he did, and hopefully a little therapy and whirlpools will make him all better for Friday.  I don’t want to think that Josh is becoming a prima donna.

Wakefield the veteran, was furious when he was demoted to the bullpen and has appeared in three games since. This is also a statement from the Herald.  I don’t really believe it.  Wakefield does not appear the type to get Furious.  I don’t think it’s in his nature.  But I for one am very happy he gets a start tomorrow.  Please Timmy be on your game!

Morrow's wildness helps BoSox beat TorontoHe has five RBI in his past four games after racking up six in his previous 19.  It’s not the Papi of old, but looks like he finally has something going for him.  And that RBI last night could very well have been the game winner!

We love those Angels

Red Sox pitcher John Lackey...

John Lackey starts tonight against his former teammates, let’s just hope he is as lucky as Beckett and Lester were the past two nights!

Big Papi still struggling, I’m sure the bad press is not helping at all.  That stuff gets into your head and you can’t seem to do anything right.  I’d like to see him on the DL for a few days and then maybe playing with Portland Seadogs for a few weeks just to get his confidence back.

Stupid is as Stupid does! Do I think they should have tasered this young man? No I think that was a bit excessive!  But really, shouldn’t he have know better?

Papi’s coming back

Well at least Big Papi had a decent weekend. 2 homeruns, one off a left hander.

What is with the pitching staff? Are you aware that Jon Lester, John Lacky, and Clay Buchholtz wives are all having babies this summer? and Jonathan Paplebon’s wife just had a baby.  Do you think there is a connection with this and the crappy way they all have been pitching?  You would think they could plan things a little better?  And Dice K and Beckett? What is there problem?

I think there should be less said about Big Papi, Mike Lowell, and Tim Wakefield and more said and done with the Pitchers!

LOW DOWN: Daisuke Matsuzaka hangs his...SMALL RELIEF: Red Sox reliever Scott...

On the other hand i’m liking Scott Schoeneweis.  PV’s he has a really good year.

What’s up Josh?

WOE, CANADA! Red Sox right-hander...

“The numbers tell everything,” Beckett said  “They’re not good.”

Well that is something we all know.  But he is not alone, what the hell is wrong with all the pitchers, except Wakefield, who has been banished to the bullpen?  It’s not right, Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Buckholtz all looking pretty sad. But Wakefield goes to the bullpen because Dice K is finally coming back.  So Wrong.

LEAKY 'PEN: Sox starter Tim...

Wake as always, the gentlemen, pitched Sunday. The Sox lost, but not Wakefield.  He was winning with 2 outs in the 7th and Terry decides to take him out, Why? he wasn’t tired, he was doing fine.  So the outcome, we lost the game.

I can’t say I am looking forward to Dice K, like most I am tired of him, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt for one game, then, well, we shall see.

Just for the record we did win last night, but to quote the boston herald, someone had too.
