Mikie on First…..Sweet

Tuesday nights game against Cleveland was one of the best games I’ve see all season.

Mike Lowell playing first base for Youk was great, and then Beckett getting mad! Wow, I don’t like fighting, but for Beckett to get that mad, and Francona to go billistic like he did, and no one got hurt.  It just pumped up the game.

All that luster was lost last night. Crabcakes looking hot and bothered.

One more tonight with Cleveland, come on guys get it together.

Sox win/ and Mikie sounds off

Late game, long game. But when the end result goes our way it’s always worth it. It’s always a little sweeter when we win in Yankee Stadium.

Lowell was approached by reporters regarding being left out of the lineup today, and when he spoke the truth about the way he feels ( and who wouldn’t in his position) the media rips him up one side and down the other.  Going from a Golden Glove player to sitting on the bench and then when Tito gets desperate having him pitch hit, what can you expect from him.  He sits cold and then they expect miracles.

Mike wants to play, if he can’t play then they should just release him and stop the torture. I love Mike, he has been my favorite player for years, but I am feeling his pain.  And don’t be making up lies about him, he has the right to get angry!  He hasn’t asked for a Trade or Release, but the Media just won’t let up. They approched him, not the other way around. He’s not Manny!

SQUEAKY WHEEL: Veteran Mike Lowell,...

Back home tonight for two games with Minn. Then on the road again to Philly and then Tampa.  What a screwed up schedule. It’s seems hard enough to win this season, and MLB is not making it any easier!

Tito, you have to pick a line-up and try sticking to  it

Boston Red Sox's Mike Lowell hits a two-run double during the third inning of a MLB baseball game against the Los Angeles Angels at Fenway Park in Boston Monday, May 3, 2010.

Mike Lowell went 4 for 4 with four RBIs and three doubles

Did you watch the game last night?  Mike Lowell, Kevin Youklis, JD Drew. It’s time to set the line up in stone. Tek should also be in the starting line-up.

If you havent’ seen a game all season I hope you watched last nights game. Mike proved he was not to old or hurt to play Baseball!

PV’s to Dave Roberts. Dave was has Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was detected in Roberts early this spring. Roberts said yesterday both he and his doctors are optimistic that he will be able to recover fully.

This file photo shows the Boston Red...

What’s up Josh?

WOE, CANADA! Red Sox right-hander...

“The numbers tell everything,” Beckett said  “They’re not good.”

Well that is something we all know.  But he is not alone, what the hell is wrong with all the pitchers, except Wakefield, who has been banished to the bullpen?  It’s not right, Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Buckholtz all looking pretty sad. But Wakefield goes to the bullpen because Dice K is finally coming back.  So Wrong.

LEAKY 'PEN: Sox starter Tim...

Wake as always, the gentlemen, pitched Sunday. The Sox lost, but not Wakefield.  He was winning with 2 outs in the 7th and Terry decides to take him out, Why? he wasn’t tired, he was doing fine.  So the outcome, we lost the game.

I can’t say I am looking forward to Dice K, like most I am tired of him, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt for one game, then, well, we shall see.

Just for the record we did win last night, but to quote the boston herald, someone had too.

Teks not gone yet

GOING STRONG: Jason Varitek may be...(photo from bostonherald.com)

Jason Veritek may just be the back up catcher, but it appears to me that he may be having a pretty good year afterall!  Tek is looking better than he has in the past 2 years.  Maybe it’s the rest between all the games, but it’s working.  Now if we could get the rest of the team to perk up just a bit.

I may not be a big fan of CrabCakes (Jon Lester) but yesterday was an embarrasment. Both to him and the team.  Franconia is leaving the pitchers in too long.  When the game starts to get out of hand it is time to take the pitcher out!

Holiday here in Boston, Patriots Day! Early game, I think 11 a.m., right now the sky is clear and it is 35 degrees out, hopefully it will get a little warmer by game time.

Lacky’s pitching today. I have some friends going to the game. Hope they get to see a good one!

Somethings just don’t belong in baseball

Bernie Carbo has found God, and now he tells anyone that will listen “what a loser he was”.He delivered an 8:30 a.m. service before a day's worth of baseball.

Drugs, Booze, Pot, This guy did it all and then went out and tried to play ball.  He is know for the Home run in the 1975 world series that tied the game and got Fisk up to win the game.I don’t remember much about the 70’s, but I do remember that game. I also remember that my daughter loved Bernie.  Now I wish he was someone I forgot.

Terry Francona finally came up with the rotation, Beckett, Lester, Lackey, Tim Wakefield, and Clay Buchholz, Looks like Dice K will be in a bull pen for a while.

I am really happy to see Spring Training come to an end, maybe the rain will end with it. Opening Night and a new Season start Sunday. Let’s hope they bring some good weather with them from Florida.

Opening Day is almost here

It’s just 6 days until the opening game of the season,Terry Francona will use five starters: Josh Beckett, Jon Lester, John Lackey, Tim Wakefield, and Clay Buchholz.  That sounds really good!  The only thing that could be better would be a strarting opening day of oh, let’s just say April 23 at 1:00 at Fenway. By the end of April the weather should be really nice, and opening day should always be in the afternoon.

Mike Lowell is really having a tough time. Not that he is complaining, he is not that kind of guy.  His knee is swollen and he has not and probably won’t have enough at bats to start in the opening game.  He will probably come up to Boston on the disabled list.  Again not that he is complaining.  He knows his limitations.

Games haven’t started and I have already gotten a couple of tickets. It’s nice, but there is no way I am going to Fenway in April.  My daughter will enjoy the tickets, Thanks P.N. but next time July. Please.
