Good Luck John

John Farerell will be the new Manager for the Toronto Blue Jays.  I’m very happy for him.  I liked John while he was here, but I’m sure most coaches try so hard because some day they want to Manage a team.  Well John succeeded.  That says a lot for the Sox.  He did good! And now he is off on his own.

Sorry John, I like you, but we are still going to kick your butt!John Farrell will be toting a new jersey around MLB stops next season as Blue Jays manager.

Now what about a replacement? Rumors are flying that our Captain might be retiring? Well, what better pitching coach than a former catcher? Especially one that knows the pitchers.

I just love this Photo!

World Series Starts Tonight!!

I am leaning toward San Francisco, Javi Lopez is pitching for them……..but of course I want Cliff Lee to win ( I would also like to see the Sox get him, but they probably won’t)

So I really don’t care which team wins, I am just really happy that it is the Giants and the Rangers playing!! (if it can’t be the Red Sox)

Didn’t think I would be so sad

I watch quite a bit of Baseball this weekend.  I didn’t expect much, boy was i surprised! First on Friday night they didn’t postpone the game until after 10:00. It was pouring, everyone knew the game was not going to be played, but they just wouldn’t pospone, so we waited.

Saturdays game was a little disapointing, but what the heck we knew we were out of the running, and it was Mike Lowell’s farewell game.  Just writing that makes me cry.  I can’t believe he won’t be with the team come Spring Training time.

Then came the make up game.  No starters except for J.D. as DH. What the hell were we trying to lose?  Surprise, we won it in the 10th!!

Yesterdays game made me cry again, possibly the last time Jason Varitek will step up to the plate as a Red Sox. He will always be the team Captain to me.

Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek gets a hug from Victor Martinez after he was replaced in the ninth inning yesterday.

So what if the Yankees won the Wild Card, we knew we couldn’t.

But we won the game, the weekend, and we looked terrific!!

So go play your Playoff Games and we will sit back and wait for Spring.  But we have to Thank the Sox for a Great Ending to a crazy season.

My daughter went to a good bye time for Mike Lowell at Jerry Remys new restaurant, and won a Wally Doll, autographed by Jerry.  I have an original Wally, but this one is so much nicer, it has Jerry’s name on it’s butt, and I love Jerry. ( by the way the Wally doll is now mine,  because I lent her my Mike Lowell shirt)

I will probably do a blog saying Good Bye to Mike Lowell, but right now I just can’t.

Tito, you have to pick a line-up and try sticking to  it

Boston Red Sox's Mike Lowell hits a two-run double during the third inning of a MLB baseball game against the Los Angeles Angels at Fenway Park in Boston Monday, May 3, 2010.

Mike Lowell went 4 for 4 with four RBIs and three doubles

Did you watch the game last night?  Mike Lowell, Kevin Youklis, JD Drew. It’s time to set the line up in stone. Tek should also be in the starting line-up.

If you havent’ seen a game all season I hope you watched last nights game. Mike proved he was not to old or hurt to play Baseball!

PV’s to Dave Roberts. Dave was has Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which was detected in Roberts early this spring. Roberts said yesterday both he and his doctors are optimistic that he will be able to recover fully.

This file photo shows the Boston Red...

I see the Red (Sox) Moon Arising!

Mike Lowell drove in the go-ahead run with a bases loaded walk and the Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays 2-1 on Tuesday night.  How sweet is that. Yes I know Clay Buchholz went 8 innings and won the game, but I love the fact that Mike is in there and that he is helping the team win!

OVER THE TOP: Red Sox pitcher Clay...

I’m sad that the DH has come down to Mike and Big Papi, that’s not a choice I want to make, but we’re all pretty sure this is Mike’s last year in Major League Baseball and we want him to leave on a high note!

JAY WALKING: Mike Lowell draws a...

This was also the 5th straight victory in Toronto.  Maybe we should play in Canada more often?  We really needed these wins, and maybe it’s the start of something.

Jason Varitek. Can’t pass up a good picture of Tek. Who I might add is looking a lot better this season than expected.

Teks not gone yet

GOING STRONG: Jason Varitek may be...(photo from bostonherald.com)

Jason Veritek may just be the back up catcher, but it appears to me that he may be having a pretty good year afterall!  Tek is looking better than he has in the past 2 years.  Maybe it’s the rest between all the games, but it’s working.  Now if we could get the rest of the team to perk up just a bit.

I may not be a big fan of CrabCakes (Jon Lester) but yesterday was an embarrasment. Both to him and the team.  Franconia is leaving the pitchers in too long.  When the game starts to get out of hand it is time to take the pitcher out!

Holiday here in Boston, Patriots Day! Early game, I think 11 a.m., right now the sky is clear and it is 35 degrees out, hopefully it will get a little warmer by game time.

Lacky’s pitching today. I have some friends going to the game. Hope they get to see a good one!

Great Weekend for Baseball

First we watched C.C. Sabathia blow his No/No with a hit in the 8th inning. Turned the channed channel enough of the Yankees.

The Sox changed the lineup, and it was very successfull. first Varitek had two home runs, Red Sox's Jason Varitek, left,...Mike Lowell

Then Mike Lowell made a great play at third and and got a hit. This is the way we want to see the Sox play!

“This probably is my last year,” Lowell said. “I’m not 100 percent sure, but I’m well up there.”(Mike Lowell from bostonherald.com) This is not something I want to hear, but I understand.  He looked great Saturday night, but I’m sure he was hurting big time Sunday morning.

Great catch by Jocoby yesterday, these guys played this weekend like the champs we know they are!

Love that knuckleball

Tim Wakefield.

Tim Wakefield starts 16th Season, unbelieveable. and a knuckleball pitcher at that!  Always one of my favorite Red Sox, and I couldn’t be happier he is still in the starting lineup. I would rather see him pitching in Fenway, but that’s okay, I think he’ll do just fine.

VMart is catching him tonight.  I hope he has enough time with Tim. I was kind of hoping Tek would be catching tonight, but Tito said it would be Victor.

4 games into the season and the local press is all over the Sox. Enough! They won opening night game against the Yankees. The next two were good games, they didn’t just hand the win over to them. Lighten up, it’s a long season.

PV’s to Papi, tonight is going to be his night too.
